Wilhelmina's Bradford, was a woman of resilience, selflessness, and an unyielding commitment to others. This initiative was established to honor her legacy by breaking barriers and creating opportunities for individuals to achieve their dreams, just as she had always wished for herself.

Wilhelmina's story is a legacy of strength and sacrifice. At just 16 years old, she became a single mother and made the courages decision to leave school and devote herself to raising her daughter. Despite the many challenges and obstacles she faced, by 18 she was married, and by 21, she was a mother of two daughters. However, life took another turn, and by the age of 25, Wilhelmina found herself as a single mom once again.

As a single mother, Wilhelmina worked tirelessly, holding multiple jobs to provide for her daughters. She did so selflessly, often putting her own dreams on hold to ensure their needs were met. Despite her sacrifices, there was one wish she quietly held onto, a wish she often voiced in moments of reflection."I wish I could have finished school." Even though she never returned to complete her education, Wilhelmina dedicated herself to helping others achieve what she thought she could not. She became a cornerstone for her community, always offering a helping hand to family, friends, neighbors, strangers, in need- whether babysitting children so parents could work or pursue their education, or simply lending her wisdom and support. Wilhelmina's selflessness left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.

One of her proudest moments came on June 18, 2019, when her grandson Tayvon, graduated at Temple University. As she watched him walk across the stage receiving his diploma, tears of joy streamed down her face. Back at home , Tayvon placed his cap and gown on his grandmothers, and Wilhelmina broke down in tears, saying ," This feels go good." It was a powerful moment and a symbolic fulfillment of the dreams she had always longed for.

One May 2, 2023, Wilhelmina's untimely passing left a profound void in the lives of those she had touched. Yet, her legacy of strength, compassion, and unwavering support for others inspired the creation of Wilhelmina's Wish Foundation . This Foundation was birthed to honor her memory by helping individuals overcome the same barriers she faced, ensuring her story and spirit live on through every life it touches.

✅ High School Scholarships: One scholarship for local high school students from low-income backgrounds with aspirations to join the healthcare field, providing financial support and mentoring opportunities to help them achieve their goals.

✅ Second Chance Scholarships: Two  scholarships for individuals seeking a second chance- designed for adults who wish to return to education, pursue new career paths, and enhance their skills in healthcare, encourage personal growth, resilience, and career advancement.

✅ Mini Me Childcare Services: To further support our students and participants, we provide Mini Me Chldcare Services. This initiative ensures that parents can pursue their educational and career aspirations while knowing their children are cared for in a nurturing environment only steps away from them.
